Chicago is not unlike getting a loan in
any big city. Dealerships are a dime a dozen, they
are plugged in to the best incentive loan programs,
they move massive amounts of cars a month, and they
are ready to jump on you the minute you walk through
those glass doors! Chicago is a fast paced city, and
you will need to have as much information at your
fingertips before stopping in to see your local car
salesperson for a car loan. Be prepared.
The cold wind off the lake is not the only chilly
breeze that can blow your way. Just stand in front
of the blustering sale's pitch of any car salesperson
and tell me your head doesn't start to spin! What
you need to do is keep these men and women on the
straight and narrow. If you know the car you are looking
to buy and the options you will consider, then you
already know what you can afford. You're car loan
rates are directly affected by the type of car you
plan to purchase.
Having a good credit history of at least 5 years,
making regular monthly payments for two of those years
must be done even before your dealer will even consider
you for one of their car loans. As with any big city
dealer, our Chicago car dealers will try to get you
into the most expensive car. Don't let them sucker
you with a car that you don't need or want. Don't
let them try to walk you into a big city loan with
higher interest rates then you can afford. If you
talk price from the outset and keep talking price,
you can deal with the loan as the very last part of
the negotiations.
Chicago has the Metro! Why do you even need a car?!
Let the dealer know you consider these options; public
transportation, other dealers even. The salesman needs
to know that your business is important, that they
have to earn your hard-earned dollar. Entering into
a car loan is not something you do everyday. This
is a big decision for you, it's a commitment you will
have for at least two years, maybe more. You want
the best price for the car you want. Then and only
then, will you be able to even consider the terms
of a car loan. Of course, in no time the dealer will
be able to determine what you can afford.
A simple check of your credit will give more information
about you then you would ever care to share. But keep
the negotiations in your favor as long as you can
to get a car loan in Chicago .
